The Wikipedia trading card game

Wiki Million is a free online trading card game (TCG) where every card is a real Wikipedia page. Open a pack and you may pull a president, a volcano, a football club, a meme or a page nobody has read this year. More than 100,000 cards, one for each page, and the pages the world reads the most are the hardest to find.

How the Wiki TCG works

• Packs of five cards. A free pack arrives every 10 minutes and up to 10 wait for you. Tear it open, flip the cards one by one.
• A card is a page. Its picture, its first lines and its link come straight from Wikipedia. Tap a card to read the article.
• Collection. Every card you pull is kept, doubles too. All cards lets you search the whole set.
• No download. It runs in the browser, on a phone or a computer. Start as a guest, save your cards later with Google or an email.

Rarities: from Common to Legendary

The rarity of a card is not drawn by hand: it comes from how many people read the page on Wikipedia. A quiet village is a Common. Then come Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare and Ultra Rare. The pages everyone reads are the Legendary cards, fewer than one in a thousand cards.

Above them all, the Secret cards: each one exists in 100 numbered copies for all players together, and every copy found makes the next one harder to pull.

Trade up and trade with friends

Trade up: put in 10 cards of one rarity, get one random card of the next rarity. Doubles become a shot at a Legendary.

Live trades: add a friend, open a trade, and swap cards face to face, with Wikicoins on top when a card is worth more than the other. Destroying cards you do not want earns Wikicoins.

Other Wikipedia card games

Wiki Million is not the only game built on the encyclopedia. WikiGacha (Wikipedia Gacha), from Japan, gives its cards attack and defense numbers for battles, and sets rarity from the quality score of the article. WikiMasters (Wiki Masters) is a French game on French Wikipedia, with duels between friends, played once you have made an account.

Wiki Million takes another road: no battles, the pleasure of the pull. Rarity follows what the world really reads, Secret cards are numbered for all players, trades happen live between friends, and you open your first pack as a guest, in one tap.
